1) Connect to the device
- Power the controller. On first boot it broadcasts a Wi-Fi access point named
WLED-AP. - Join
WLED-AP(default passwordwled1234). - The captive portal opens automatically; otherwise browse to
http://4.3.2.1.
2) Join your home Wi-Fi
- Open WIFI SETTINGS.
- Enter your 2.4 GHz SSID and password (ESP8266 does not support 5 GHz).
- Optionally set an mDNS hostname, then Save & Connect. The device reboots and joins your network.
3) Configure the LED output

ESP8266 LED count The ESP8266 comfortably drives several hundred LEDs on a single output. For large installations, keep effects modest, enable a power/current limit, and use power injection. Follow WLED's ESP8266 guidance at kno.wled.ge.
