I purchased an SMHUB ESSENTIAL and configured it as a controller for a Zigbee network, a Zigbee2MQTT network, and a Z-Wave network. I had some trouble configuring it, but thanks to the endless patience of SMLIGHT's technical support, I finally got it working. I was able to replace three separate antennas for the three networks with a single device, which is also PoE-enabled, allowing me to plug it into an Ethernet port.

Zdecydowanie mogę polecić produkty SMLIGHT każdemu, kto buduje większą i bardziej wymagającą sieć Zigbee opartą o Home Assistant i Zigbee2MQTT.

I'm very happy with my SLZB-MR5U! It's nice, and seems to work quite well managing my Zigbee Network. Didn't give thread a try yet, but good to know it could do both! Also had some questions with configuration, which were promptly answered in a support ticket. Thanks!

Just received, I'm not confident with this product. The documentation is missing. I already have a wonderdul SLZB-06 working fine on Zigbee. I want to add Matter on Thread and ZWave in the same way.

I purchased the SLZB-MR4U to extend my Zigbee network into an outbuilding while also future-proofing my smart home with Matter support. The hardware quality is outstanding, and it's clear that a lot of thought has gone into the design. The software is equally impressive, with regular updates and continuous enhancements. When I had a few technical questions, the support team was exceptional. They were knowledgeable, responsive, and provided clear solutions that quickly resolved my issues. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with both the product and the customer service. I'll definitely be looking to replace my main coordinator with another SMLIGHT device in the near future. Highly recommended.

Home Assistant. --- I’ve been using it for about a year now with around a hundred different devices connected. I’ve only ever run into an issue once, and support was right there to help me sort it out! Honestly, I think it’s the best solution for integrating Zigbee devices into a Home Assistant-based smart home.

i migrated my Zigbee and Thread Network to the MR4U. OLD: SLZB-06MU and an self flashed ESP32-S3+ESP32-H2 OTBR NEW: SLZB-MR4U with native OTBR (SLZB-OS 3.2.6.dev0) Zigbee on CC2674P10, Thread on EFR32MG26, OTBR native on the slzbOS. Integrated in my existing Apple Thread Network. with the IEEE duplication and some tweaks in zigbee2mqtt i migrated my whole zigbee network with 138 devices. Great Product, great Support!

I bought the gateway to use with Thread, as I was planning to use the new Ikea Thread products. But it turned out the product did not yet support Thread. So that was a disappointment, and the reason I don't give them 5 stars. I wrote to support, and they told me it is being implemented. After a few days I prodded them again, and we started to go back and forth with some firmware versions. After some 3 or 4 tries and a little more than a week, I got a firmware version that worked. The system works well now, is stable, and looks well built. The design is nice, and now that the Thread firmware works, I can recommend it without reservations. :)

Be careful. I just migrated my Slaesh's to MR3U. Made a mistake that installed the latest CC2674P10 firmware which is a DEV firmware. After one day, all of my devices (100+) disappeared. Even after rolled back to Shlaesh's coordinator. FInally after few hours of work, search, Gemini chats, I installed the 20240716 firmware and now it works like a charm. And also there is an issue with the Thread addon in HA, since it needs a serial USB device even for the network based MR3U, so I had to re-plug my Slaesh's coordinator to be able to install the Thread on LAN 🙂 Shame

The interesting thing about this all is that Texas Instruments is buying Silicon Labs anyway, so soon both chips will come from the same company.
— Rob van der Linde · NZRead full review →▲ 0▼ 0 - ★★★★★via facebook
The SLZB-MR4U is equipped with one Silicon Labs EFR32MG26 and one Texas Instruments CC2674P10 chipset, whereas the SLZB-MR5U features two Silicon Labs EFR32MG24 chipsets. Currently, the SLZB-MR4U is the flagship option for users who want Zigbee and Matter running on two different chip platforms. It’s recommended to use the Texas Instruments chipset for Zigbee and the Silicon Labs chipset for Matter.

I have the MRW10U, and it's been rock solid since getting it up and running. Took a bit of fiddling, because I was transitioning 60 ZigBee devices and like 10 z-wave ones from my old USB dongle to the new poe one. So I had to get them running in parallel to do the transition and not lose functionality. But it's been great since. Plenty of firmware updates from the manufacturer too

Just installed a couple of MRU4's, each connected to is own ZigBee2MQTT docker instance, to one Home assistant instance. These replaced a couple of Raspberry Pi 1 with Sonnoff adapters, as both Pi's failed in a couple of days. As Z2M held all the devices pairing data, I plugged everything in and everything just worked - nice!

I received mine few days ago and it was a breeze. I just configured the MR3U with ZHA as a coordinator and HA asked me if I wanted to migrate my devices. It only took 5 minutes and everything is working just fine

Been running one for a while, zigbee only as that's all I have. Its been rock solid stable, even more so than the previous POE zigbee co-ordinator I used to have. I would occasionally have the last one start not getting updates from 1 Sonoff temperature sensor that a reboot would solve, but i get nothing off the sort with this one.

I use this currently in Home assistant with zwave js and Z2M. Previously I was using an USB stick and my room that has the server was too far away from where my sensors are. The SLZB allowed me to connect in a central part of my house via POE. It's been a stable connection since it was configured. I had some questions during my initial install and support was quick to respond and help.

The agent was super helpful and quickly walked me through the process of triaging and resolving my issue (a memory corruption in the TI chip that caused it not to respond to z2m connections at all). I'm very happy to have access to such great support for this product.

Avevo già SLZB-06 (ottimo prodotto) e l’idea di avere, all’interno dello stesso device, Z2M e MQTT (e altri software) indipendenti da Home Assistant mi ha stuzzicato all’acquisto. Installato in pochi secondi, arriva già funzionante e attivo.

A lovey piece of hardware. I can use Zigbee2MQTT on it connected to my Home Assistant broker without messing about with my Home Assistant installation of ZHA. If they can get the matter bridge hass plugin to be installed, I can run Matter Bridge on this device as its a pain to update on Home Assistant. I am looking forward to the possibles in the future.

Very good device! The radio and processing are done in one device, so higher-level data packets can go to the smart home controller, where QoS can be used in the transmission of packets, creating a much more stable wireless network.

Okay, here are my first impressions. Since the whole thing is modular, you only get what you ordered! In my case, the basic version + PoE module + Z-Wave module, and the first thing to do is assemble the whole thing. But before that comes taking it apart, which is a bit tricky, but thanks to the instructions, it was possible without damaging anything!

The reason I prefer the ... SMHUB is because I can run both Z2M and OTBR on it (I currently run Z2M on my server, using a Sonoff Dongle-P, so I hope to transfer its network to the SMHUB without much issues, and with a dedicated Thread border router I can stop using my HomePod for it).

So, am I happy with the final result? Yes! Very much so, in fact. It’s a pretty good successor to my previous setup. I generally enjoy running software with different purposes on separate hardware, and this aligns quite well with that methodology. It’s really nice to have a simple device that manages my Zigbee network and simply exposes an MQTT broker, while simultaneously tying in with my Tailscale network.
