At first, I thought it was just another coordinator — but it’s not.</p> <p>The company <strong>SMLIGHT</strong>, well known for producing high-quality Zigbee coordinators, has released a new device called the <strong>SMHUB Nano</strong>. Unlike a standard coordinator, this device is <strong>Linux-based</strong> and comes with several applications preinstalled. You simply power it on, connect it to your network, and access its web interface.</p> <p>I think this device is ideal for people who don’t want a complicated smart home setup. If you only want a few smart devices and prefer something affordable and easy to manage, this could be perfect. It’s also a great option for remote properties — beach houses, mountain cabins, apartments, or vacation homes where you don’t visit often.</p> <p>The SMHUB Nano looks very similar to other SMLIGHT coordinators in terms of design. At first glance, you might think it’s just another Zigbee dongle. However, what makes it truly interesting is what’s inside.</p> <p>Because it runs on Linux, advanced users can unlock even more potential. But even if you don’t have Linux knowledge, that’s not a problem — the device is designed to work smoothly without needing deep technical skills.</p> <p>Once connected via Ethernet (RJ45) and powered on, you simply find its IP address on your network. On Windows, you can use tools like Advanced IP Scanner to locate it. This means you don’t need to manually set up complex services — everything is prepared from the start.</p> <p>While you can use the SMHUB Nano purely as a standard Zigbee coordinator, I personally think that would waste much of its potential. SMLIGHT already offers other dedicated coordinators for that purpose.
